In 2013, at a low point in my life marked by emotional turbulence and substance use, I found yoga. A single Bikram-style Hot Yoga class offered immediate relief, leading to 60 consecutive days of practice and the start of a profound evolution. My passion deepened over the next decade as I explored Vinyasa, supported studios, and found peace in sound baths, fostering a deep love for communal practice.
Almost exactly 10 years later, I entered an inpatient mental health and substance use treatment program. This experience elevated my connection to yoga and breathwork, reminding me of its initial transformative power and igniting a new sense of empowerment. My consistent daily practice during treatment culminated in earning my RYT-200 certification in Ayurveda Yoga.
My personal journey of healing through mindful movement and breath is the bedrock of my teaching philosophy. I lead classes with compassion, acceptance, and love, while always honoring the unique wisdom of our bodies. We’ll use Ayurveda’s principle of opposite action for healing to balance mind and body through poses, sequences, and breathwork, guiding us to move forward in life one breath at a time.
